An Italian Conman,  Roberto Guglielmi from Florence who claimed he was disabled and sat in a wheel chair for twelve years has been caught walking without any form of aid.

According to reports, the Italian pretended to be wheelchair-bound following a car accident in 2007, a scheme he devised with his house-mate in 2007 as a way to avoid paying rent.

However, the crash has been discovered to have been faked along with his disability.

Reports had it that Guglielmi was in agreement with his housemate to say he was hit by his car. They also obtained a fake disability certificate to back up their claim.

Following his claim, Guglielmi was granted a disability allowance which allowed him to pay a care-giver and was also issued with  a disabled parking bay outside his home and also granted access to disabled parking bays and driving lanes. He also became a campaigner for disabled rights in local newspapers.

He was also privileged to meet Pope Francis in  2014 after his story was shared to him.
