J.K. Rowling Unfollows Stephen King After He Tweeted His Support for Trans Women

J.K. Rowling has unfollowed Stephen King and deleted her tweet praising him after he declared that “trans women are women” on Twitter.

On Sunday, Rowling posted some tweets addressing the apology from Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle over his remarks in response to her essay where she attempted to clarify her stance on transgender rights.

Stephen King then retweeted one of her replies which made one his fan question where he stands on the matter.  “Trans women are women,” King responded.

Reacting to this, J.K Rowling unfollowed Stephen King and deleted a tweet where she once praised the author.

“I’ve always revered @StephenKing, but today my love reached – maybe not Annie Wilkes levels – but new heightsIt’s so much easier for men to ignore women’s concerns, or to belittle them, but I won’t ever forget the men who stood up when they didn’t need to. Thank you, Stephen,” the tweet which has now been deleted reads.
