January Transfer Window Live – News And Rumours – Day 20

It’s day 20 of the transfer window and iDONSABI gives you updates on the rumours making the rounds with the focus today being a possible move of Joachim Low to Spain.

Germany Master Tactician On Possible Move To Bernabeu

Bernd Schuster, former Real Madrid boss has backed Joachim Low to take over at Real Madrid on permanent basis. Although, Solari – who took over after the sack of Lopetegui – has guided Madrid back into top four in the league. It however remains unseen how he would continue after season’s end.

Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino has previously been linked with the job but the Spanish side could be rivalled by Manchester United who have interest in the Spurs gaffer.

All eyes and heads alike would now turn to Joachim Low who Schuster sees as the ideal replacement for Solari. The German recommends his country man saying Germans have a good record at Real Madrid and it would not take him by surprise if Real Madrid President, Florentina Perez, tries to sign him in the summer.

By and large, it must be noted that Low has just signed a new contract with the Germany International team which could see him remain at the helm of affairs until 2022.

That said, Low has admitted he is open to taking a job offer at Real Madrid. He said:

“I am still interested in coaching a club”, “I think it would be abroad, not in Germany. Real Madrid are an interesting club for any manager.”

Joachim Low born on the 3rd of February, 1960 is the head coach of the German team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

‘After a disappointing performance at the UEFA Euros 2004, Low was brought in as assistant to Jurgen Klinsman. Both men share same philosophy ideas as they had both studied in the same coaching school.

Under their reign, Germany put up lots of inept performances as the team got to the semi-final stages of the 2005 Confederations Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup.

On the 12th of July, 2006, Low took over as manager when Jurgen Klinsman declined a contract extension.
