Juventus Vs Atletico Madrid UCL 12 March Preview

Juventus have a mountain to climb when they take on Atletico Madrid in Turin as they will be looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of the tie in order to go through to the last eight of the competition.

Juventus

This is a huge, huge match for the club side which has swept other teams in the Serie A and are an astonishing 16 points ahead of second-placed, Napoli.

Speaking about the significance of this match is that Massimiliano Allegri had to rest his attack-line – including Cristiano Ronaldo who is considered a Champions League specialist and has four of those titles under his belt – for their last Serie A fixture which they still ran out 4-1winners.

Allegri knows that his future in Turin hinges on the performance of his lads and much more importantly the results they make out of the tie.

They would need the expertise of Cristiano Ronaldo to get in behind a resolute Atletico Madrid defence line and drag them through to the last-eight.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have a project at hand which Diego Simeone will be looking to end on a very good note.

They are no small team on European fronts having gotten to this stage of the competition, five times out of the last six, and to the finals in two of the last five seasons where they lost out to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Madrid on both occasions.

That said, Juve were the favourites heading into the first leg but Atletico took their destiny in their own hands and with it took along a huge 2-0 advantage.

European’s best defensive team will be looking to keep a goalless draw or at least break Juve with a quick counter-attacking football.
