Juventus Vs Fiorentina Serie A 20 April Preview

Juventus play hosts to Fiorentina on Saturday night knowing fully well that a win in front of their home support would secure them the Serie A title for the eighth straight time.

Juventus

The Old Lady already have their names written on the Serie A title having won it for the last seven seasons and 20 points ahead of second-placed Napoli.

They instead had their eyes on a third European Cup, their sole reason for bringing Cristiano Ronaldo into their fold for such a gargantuan sum, only to crash out to a young Ajax team.

Indeed, that loss has left them with only the Serie A title to vie for having also crashed out of the running for the Copa Ittalia following their 3-0 loss to Atalanta at the end of January.

It would be tough on them to imply that winning only the Serie A title this term was a disappointing season but that is indeed the truth of the season.

The disappointment of the Champions league may still be very much fresh in their minds but Juventus will be asking to wrap things up as quickly as possible in front of their home fans.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina occupy 10th position on the Serie A log with 40 points as it stands. Eight wins, 16 draws and eight losses is a summary of how they have performed locally this campaign.

No other team has posted more draws than them this term and they will be owing their position on the log to those draws.

There is no questioning that eight wins in a season is very poor from any team. That said, they are in the semifinals of the Copa Italia and look a great team to rub shoulders with the very best of clubs in Italy.

They will be looking to cause an upset in Turin in what could turn out to be the most exciting of games in the league this season.
