Kante Once Again Picks Chelsea Over Move To Madrid Or Barcelona

Chelsea star, Ngolo Kante has once again reiterated his decision to stay on at the Stamford Bridge amodst interest from European giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The World Cup winner has not featured in 20 of Chelsea’s 42 games this campaign due to a couple of injuries he’s suffered in his hamstring, ankle and knee. During his absence, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho have led proceedings at the middle of the park.

The addition of youngster Gilmour, and a return of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from a prolonged injury,  as well as, the presence of Mason Mount and Ross Barkley has increased Frank Lampard midfield options.

The London Blues are also thought to be monitoring Lille’s Boubakary Soumare. However, he is down on the club’s priority list as Chelsea are more interested in signing a left-back and a forward at the moment.

Chelsea’s boss, Lampard is yet to name a player who’s surplus to his first team requirements in the off-season as he looks to create a competitive training environment till the end of a campaign that has been marred by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Real Madrid gaffer, Zinedine Zidane has been a long-time admirer of Frenchman, Kante and seeks the midfielder as a backup for Casemiro. Rennes’ 17-year-old wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga and Soumare are the other option the Los Blancos are considering for that position.

However, it is unlikely that Ngolo Kante who is now Chelsea’s best player would opt for a backup role at Madrid.

Barcelona are also touted by the media to be interested in the French midfielder. Kante is also interested in a  move to the Camp Nou, but only if Chelsea are willing to sell him ahead of the summer. Reports in Spain claim that the Catalans are willing to offer Coutinho as part of a swap deal.
