Klopp Heaps Praise On PFA Player Of The Year Van Dijk
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has heaped praises on his January signing, Van Dijk as the centre-back scooped up the PAF Player of the Year Award at a ceremony on Sunday night.
In a video played out at the PFA Awards in London, Klopp sent a special message to his ‘No. 4’ who he signed from Southampton last year for a world record during the January transfer window.
“I’m really proud it’s the second time in a row I can speak about a wonderful player who won the award for Player of the season: Virgil Van Dijk.
“Who would have thought that when he started back in Holland? I think not everybody saw immediately what kind of player hides in this giant body.
“But now the whole world is aware of that and I’m really happy that I can be a little bit around that development. I would love to think it’s because of me! But obviously it’s not, he was already the player he is now when we bought him from Southampton”, Klopp said.

Four Liverpool players were named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year with Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson starring in the most coveted Starting XI by any Premier League manager.
Jurgen Klopp mentioned in his message that he was also honoured with the selection of Mane, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk and argued that his team was packed with a bunch of special group of players.
“That all gave you the opportunity to play the season you played. You deserve the award, no doubt about that, but I think you agree there could have been three, four, five, six more players in the Team of the Year with a Liverpool shirt on.”
City had a total of six players in the PFA Team of the Year.
