Kogi and Bayelsa Gov Polls: The Broom Will Sweep Away Debris for APC – Tinubu

  • Says no other party exists than APC in the states.
  • Lauds the performance of Governor Yahaya Bello.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has said that the party would win the governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

Speaking in Benin City at the 90th birthday of Chief David Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin Kingdom, the former Lagos governor said he expects victory for the APC in both states as there was no other political party in the two states.

The National Leader of the ruling party boasted that the broom would come together to sweep away the debris of the past to secure electoral victory.

Tinubu who stated that he expected nothing less than victory in both states asked: Who is the other party?”

Speaking on the performance of the incumbent governor, Yahaya Belo who will be seeking reelection after winning the party’s primary election, Tinubu said he has done well to deserve a second term, adding that if there are no complaints in politics, then there is no democracy.

He added that attention can only be paid to the noise in the market because of so many apples, oranges and various fruits of a different character but there is one thing that is consistent.

While noting that politics is a market of many branches, he sid the broom which is the symbol of the ruling party will come together as a bunch to sweep clean all the debris of the past, that is it to ensure victory for the APC at the polls.

After the emergence of Bello as the party’s governorship candidate in Kogi, it is now left for the party’s flagbearer to emerge in Bayelsa after the primary election was postponed to September 3, 2019.

The main election holds in November 16.
