Kogi: Police Nab Suspected Killers of PDP Women Leader Salome Abu

The Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State Command in Kogi has secured the arrest of six suspects in connection with the killing of Mrs. Salome Abu, at Ochadamu, Ofu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, on Nov. 18.

Abu was the woman leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ochadamu.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Lokoja on Monday, the spokesman for the command, DSP William Aya, who disclosed this said that the suspects were brought in on Friday.

Abu, who was a former councilor was set ablaze on Nov. 18 in her husband’s house at Ochadamu, by hoodlums.

According to Aya, the police had started interrogating the suspects to ascertain their level of culpability in the death of the woman.

He said that the outcome of the investigation would be made public as soon as it was completed.

PDP had alleged that she was killed by thugs believed to be supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while the ruling party denied involvement.

Governor Yahaya Bello had also promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.

It could be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed the police to arrest the killers of Abu with a view to bringing them to justice.
