- Police and APC deny involvement in the act.
- Fanwo says Napoti always seeks sympathy.
The Director-General Media and Publicity to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Kingsly Fanwo has advised the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the November 16 election, Natasha Akpoti to deal with her issues and leave the Governor out of her travails.
This is a reaction to the allegation leveled against the governor by the SDP candidate that he is behind the burning down of the party secretariat in Lokoja ahead of Saturday’s election.

Some thugs suspected to be All Progressives Congress (APC) members burnt down the building around 2am on Monday.
Reacting to the allegation, Fanwo said Natasha is always out for unmerited sympathy.
“The Governor is against violence and has already told security agents to ensure the governorship election is peaceful. He can never be behind that,” he stated.
According to reports, the SDP office was earlier attacked on Sunday while windows and doors of the Secretariat were shattered and banners, posters and other campaign materials at the Secretariat were destroyed and replaced with the posters of the candidate of the APC, governor Yahaya Bello.

Confirming the attack, the Kogi state Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Busari said it is absurd for anyone to accuse the police who are security agents of perpetrating atrocities such as this.
“We are security agent with the responsibility to ensure peaceful election, we got wind of the incident and have ordered investigation into immediate and remote caused of the ugly incident.” The commissioner added.
