Kogi West Supplementary Poll: Dino Melaye Urges INEC to Respect Court Suit
- INEC ready for poll despite petition and court case suit.
- Smart Adeyemi in the lead.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to respect the law court on the case filed before a High Court in Abuja concerning tomorrow’s supplementary election in Kogi West Senatorial District for the Senatorial seat.
Currently, Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leads the controversial former lawmaker in the election earlier held.
Despite submitting a petition and 21 video evidence acknowledged by the commission’s chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, INEC had distributed sensitive material for the poll to hold.

He took to his social media page this morning to remind the commission about the petition and the court case. He is urging them to maintain status quo ante until the issue addressed by the court.
Melaye’s grievance has been that the poll was marred by violence. He also alleged that results from some wards where there were pockets of violence were part of results counted.
Also, He had a day earlier alleged that there was a meeting in Lagos State with two APC Governors, two-judge, and a representative of Kaduna and Kogi governors about him.
