Lagos Corp members refuse to distribute voting materials until they are paid in full

Corp members serving as INEC Adhoc Staff have refused to distribute election materials in 25 wards in Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State.

The corp members made a demand before they can distribute election materials and proceed with their election duties.

Their demand was an upfront payment of the sum of N20,000 which was promised them as allowance for participating in the electoral process.

The aggrieved corp members insisted on an upfront payment following the failure of INEC to pay them after the February 23 elections.

They further revealed that as against the agreed sum of N20,000, they were paid only N7,000.

iDONSABI.com gathered that a corp member who had spoken on a condition of anonymity revealed the real reason for their grievances.

The corp member revealed that they were not paid their allowances after the February 23 elections and for that reason, they would not head out to their polling units until they received their full allowance.

He said:

No pay, no work! We won’t move out from here except the N20,000 due to us are paid in full.

We received N7,000 alert but we are not ready to be taken for granted again like they did during the presidential election
