Latest COVID-19 Nigeria Update

Nigeria has crossed the 24000-mark in the confirmed cases of COVID-19 after recording additional 779 new cases in the last 24 hours.

From the figures, Lagos has 285 cases, Rivers-68, FCT-60, Edo-60, Enugu-56, Delta-47, Ebonyi-42, Oyo-41, Kaduna-19, Ogun-18, Ondo-16, Imo-12, Sokoto-11, Borno-9, Nasarawa-8, Abia, Gombe, and Kebbi recorded five cases each, Kano-4, Yobe-3, Ekiti-3, and Osun-2.

From the total 24,077 confirmed cases, 8,625 patients have been discharged while 558 deaths were recorded.

COVID-19: Lagos releases another 55 patients

The Lagos State government has announced the discharge of 55 more COVID-19 patients comprising 16 females and 39 males, including 16 foreign nationals from its various isolation facilities across the state. They are now free to reunite with society.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who revealed this known in a release made available by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Gboyega Akosile said the patients were discharged having been fully treated and tested negative to the virus. The latest figure of those discharged now brought to the total number so far discharged in the state to 1,419.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the newly discharged patients were 14 from Onikan, five from Gbagada, five from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, eight from Agidingbi, six from Lekki, four from Eti-Osa (LandMark), four from First Cardiology and nine from LUTH isolation centers.

He, however, urged Lagosians to continue to adhere strictly to physical distancing and hand hygiene principles to ensure that the state was free of the pandemic.
