COVID-19: Kano Poly alumni hail Ganduje for supporting local content development
Kano Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been applauded by the Kano Poly Alumni for his support for local content development against COVID-19.
The Chairman of Alumni Association, School of Management Studies, Kano State Polytechnic, Kabiru Nasir Isah, has commended Ganduje for encouraging technical and vocational education, after endorsing the newly automatic hand washing machine fabricated by students and lecturers of the polytechnic.
Isah, in his letter to the governor on Friday, said the fabricated hand washing machine was part of the alumni’s contribution to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
FG receives medical supplies from ECOWAS, WAHO, and German Foreign Office
The federal government has received medical supplies donated by the West African Health Organisations (WAHO), the Economic of West African Stets (ECOWAS), and the German foreign office.
The donors presented the supplies as part of their support to the Nigerian Government for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Expressing appreciation for the donations, NCDC Director-General, Chikwe Ihekweazu said this was a big difference in the COVID-19 response as compared to the 2014 Ebola outbreak.
While stating that it has led to an increased collaboration of Regional Health Institutions, as demonstrated by the support from WAHO, the NCDC boss assured the donors that the materials received will be put into good use.
Also giving his remarks, Dr. Sani Aliyu, the coordinator of the presidential Task Force of Nigeria said: “We are very grateful to the German government, GIZ and the WAHO led by Prof Stanley Okoro for this initiative”
