Latest News in Nigeria Today:Police Officers Dislodged by Hoodlums in Delta; Federal High Court Adjourns Fayose’s Case Till May; Read iDonsabi for full details.

1. Buhari Can’t Pay New Minimum Wage, But Can Buy Votes – Adeyanju. 

Human right activist, Deji Adeyanju took to Twitter to lambast President Muhammadu Buhari administration over the delay to sign the new minimum wage bill.

He alleged that the only money Buhari’s government had left is the one they had to buy votes in Kogi and Bayelsa in November.

2. EFCC Explains Why Ofili-Ajumogobia Was Rẹ-Arrested. 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday announced that the organization had re-arrested Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, the dismissed judge of the Federal High Court, so the body can take up fresh criminal charge against her.

According to the statement revealed by the Head of Media and Publicity for EFCC, Tony Orilade, the re-arrest of Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia was done in line with the decision of the Court of Appeal, and its purpose is to present new charges against her.

3. Police Officers Dislodged by Hoodlums in Delta. 

According to reports, some street hoodlums, who were about 4 in number attacked some police officers who were on a stop-and-search duty in Asaba, Delta State.

The incident happened around on Saturday at the Interbua roundabout by ASCON Oil Filling Station, along the popular Nnebisi road.

According to reports by eyewitness, the hoodlums attacked the police officers and left the scene with their rifles.

It was also reported that the two police officers involved sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital immediately.

4. Federal High Court Adjourns Fayose’s Case Till May. 

The trying of the former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose at the Federal High Court resumed in Lagos on Monday with the court hearing the testimony of Mr. Sunday Alade, one of the witness in the case.

Mr Sunday Alade informed the court that he while he was the branch manager of Zenith Bank in Akure in 2014, a sum of N1.2 billion was supposedly transferred to the bank by Ayo Fayose.

The judge adjourned the hearing of the case to the 10th and 14th of May when another witness is expected to appear in court to testify.

5. Little Success Adegor Spotted in a Beer Parlour. 

Success Adegor, the popular Warri school girl, was spotted in a beer palour with some politicians in Delta state.

According to the report from Fejiro Oliver, a journalist, said that the young chap was taken to a beer palour by a Delta politician.

Little Success who had gone viral about a month ago through a video which showed her been sent home from school because she had defaulted in her school fees payment.

Fejiro Oliver reported that Success was seen in the company of a Local Government Chairman in Sapele Local Government, Delta State, precisely Sapele Local Government.

6. Segun Segalink Awosanya Blasts Ambode Over Killings in Lagos State. 

Nigerian Activist, Segun Awosanya aka Segalink took to his twitter page to blast Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos State.

Segalink criticized Governor Akimwunmi Ambode over the recent killings by security officials that is ongoing in the state.

Segalink tweeted: “I don’t even know Lagos State still has a Governor until I saw this at the IGP’s Address. The irresponsibility is so loud. Citizens in your state are being decimated by your own police and you said nothing? If there be any shame in him he should have sent a representative.”

7. 2019 JAMB – Police Across The Country Apprehends Over 50 Professional Exam Writers. 

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday, revealed that the through the help of intelligence gathering mechanism, the body has been able to apprehend over 50 Professional Examination Writers who charged candidates for helping them write examination in the ongoing UTME examinations.

JAMB made it known that through the help of this intelligence mechanism, it has been able to reveal a group of people wh labeled themselves as ‘Professional Examination Writers’ who specialize in writing examination for candidates for a fee.

8. Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To The Claim Of Keyamo That One Does Not Need A WAEC Certificate To Become A President Or Governor In Nigeria. 

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the statement made by Festus Keyamo, spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who tweeted that one does not need a WAEC certificate to become President or governor in Nigeria.

Reacting to these claims, Nnamdi via Twitter on Monday, he described the Nigeria law as a joke.

According to the tweets, he said: “It is worrying when supposed senior judges and lawyers, including Senior Advocates, don’t know their School Certificate from their First School Leaving Certificate.

“Law in Nigeria is a joke! No School Certificate (WAEC) no presidency, Period!”

9. Atiku Abubakar Is A Bona Fide Citizen Of Nigeria — Alhaji Tanko Yakasai. 

Alhaji Tanko Yakasai has addressed the allegation made against Atiku Abubakar. He mentioned that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is qualified more than qualified to run for the office of the Presidency, confirming that he is a true citizen of Nigeria.

The statesman mentioned that Atiku’s father hails from Sokoto while his mother is from Adamawa state. Making him a Bona Fide citizen of Nigeria.
