1. Three Winners Emerge in $5,000 Film For Life Project

The Lagos Film Academy (LFA) in partnership with Film for Life Project has awarded 5,000 USD grant to three young aspiring filmmakers, who will make a short film directed at impacting social change by creating a storyline around the upcoming 2019 general elections in Nigeria.

2. Music Stars Shut Down Eko Atlantic for Bafest 2018

The just concluded inaugural edition of the Born in Africa Festival (BAFEST) which held at Eko Atlantic saw the biggest entertainers in the country like Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel, Davido and Tiwa Savage, as well continental stars Awilo Logomba and Sho Madjozi lit shut down the event.

One of the attendees, present at the festival expressed pride at the African talents on display saying – “It was a surreal experience, seeing all these talented individuals on stage. Everything about the show was proudly African as well as edgy and stylish.

3. Korea Donates N180m Food Items to Boko Haram Victims

The Government of Republic of Korea has made a generous donation to provide food items for 125,000 victims of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east.

The donation was made through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), and is put at a total worth of US$500,000 (about N180 million).

AGI boss, Lil Kesh teams up with his former record label boss, Olamide (also known as the King of the Streets) in a new single Logo Benz.

It is obvious from the lyrics that Logo Benz glorifies GPlus (Advanced Fee Fraud) or acquiring money illegally. The Album Cover of Logo Benz had the photo of the Mercedes Benz logo replaced with a female G-string pant.

5. Lufthansa Group Appoints First Female Nigerian General Manager, Sales

Lufthansa Group has appointed Mrs. Adenike Macaulay General Manager, Sales Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, to be responsible for all the commercial and sales activities of the Lufthansa Group Airlines in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

She would be the first Nigerian to hold such a position in the airline. The appointment will take effect January 2019. Mrs. Macaulay started her career at Lufthansa in 2009

6. Diamond Deal, Positive for Nigerian Banking System- Global Rating Agency

Moody’s Investors Service, has stated that the recent business combination agreement between Access Bank Plc and Diamond Bank will be “credit positive” for the overall Nigerian banking system.

According to Moody’s, Diamond Bank merging with Access Bank would limit the threat of contagion of the Diamond Bank’s relatively weak credit profile to the Nigeria’s banking system.

The proposed merger between the banks has gotten a ‘no objection’ approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and will be finalized by June 2019.

7. APC Has Fulfilled All Promises to Nigerians- Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has claimed that the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had fulfilled all the campaign promises it made to Nigerians.

The minister who made this claim while answering questions from journalists in the State House on Friday.

8. Icon of Free Education: Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere

The general overseer of the largest Christian congregation in Rivers state, Apostle Chibuzor has decided, as a key focus of his ministry, to embark on a massive establishment of standard schools throughout country admitting pupils for free. Pupils who are enrolled are also provided with books, feeding and uniforms for free. Pupils are often sent on excursions abroad with all expense paid by the church.

The free schools are open to children from all religions, state of origin or race.  Though a Christian own school, the schools has a number of muslim pupils in attendance.

OPM currently operate about 10 free schools spread across Nigeria with more still under construction.

9. Apc Crisis: Gov. Amosun Fears 2 persons, but Not Oshiomhole

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has made it clear that he does not fear the National leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The governor said he only fears God and President Muhammadu Buhari. He further said he was ready for Oshiomhole.

10. Tradermoni is Vote Buying, an Opposition Allegation- Vp Osibanjo

Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has said that the opposition party stance that the tradermoni and market money schemes under the Federal Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme is meant to lure the electorate to vote for the the APC in the coming general elections is nothing but an opposition allegation.

11. No Shishi for Bribe- Nigerian Artistes

Nigerian Legendary Musician 2Baba collaborated with numerous other Nigerian musician like Mr. P, Slimcase, Pasuma, Falz, Classiq, Simi, Timi Dakolo, Waje, and illbliss to bring out this latest song called No shishi for Bribe.

“No shishi for Bribe” 2baba and others lent their voices to chastise the buying and selling of votes in the forthcoming general elections.
