1. BBNaija 2019 Auditions Kick-Starts Across Nation on Friday

Auditions for the fourth season of the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija kicked off on Friday across the chosen states of the federation.

A large number of young people turned out at different audition venues as early as midnight.

Fans of the BBNaija reality TV show took to social media to express amazement at the turnout of people.

The turnout was tremendous that there was heavy traffic along the venues of the auditions.

Reports reaching us say some aspirants were doubtful they would be picked considering the large turn out of aspirants. However, some remained optimistic in hopes of making it into the Big Brother House.

2. 9-Year-Old Girl Drowns inside Well in Jigawa

A 9 year old girl identified as Hassana Aliyu of Kasarau Yamma quarters in Dutse, Jigawa, has lost her life after she fell into a well.

The Director, Jigawa State Fire Directorate, Alhaji Ahmed Danyaro,confirmed the incident, saying it happened on Thursday in Dutse at about 1:30 p.m.

Danyaro further revealed that no one could explain how the young girl fell intothe well.

However, her unconscious body was recovered and subsequently handed over to her parents for burial..

3. Atiku Promises to Complete Niger Bridge, Revive Delta Seaports

The presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has promised to complete the Niger Bridge and revive back to life the four seaports in Delta State, if elected.

Atiku, during his campaign in Asaba, said the idea was to create employment for millions of youths in Nigeria.

He appealed to the people to vote PDP all the way in all elections, starting from February 16.

4. Female–Led Robbery Gang Attacks Uber Driver

A female member of an armed robbery gang, who usually rob Uber drivers has been arrested.

Also apprehended alongside her, were two members of the gang identified as Zino Tochukwu Ude and Anumelechi Chris Williams.

The operation that led to the arrest of the suspects on Thursday was ordered by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal.

5. Nigerian Lady Climbs Wall in Skimpy Dress in a Bid to Beat Massive Queue at BBNaija Auditions in Lagos

There was a heavy turn out of aspirants for the audition of this year’s season of Big Brother Naija.

A lady even became a spider girl by circumstance in a bid to get ahead of the long cue. In one of the audition videos that emerged on twitter,the said lady was seen climbing a wall in a skimpy dress.

An eyewitness said that some aspirants slept over at the venue against the the Friday slated for the kick off of auditions.

6. Public Schools Shut, Heavy Traffic in Enugu As Atiku Visits

Public primary and Secondary schools in Enugu were on Friday asked to go home following the campaign rally of the the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the state.

It was gathered that students of the various public schools were seen going at around 10 a.m.

7. Man Allegedly Turns into Dog After Alighting from His Car

In what seemed like a make-belief horror movie,a man allegedly turned into a dog after coming out of his car in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 31st January.

The incident was reported by a face book user, who said the incident happened at Garrison in Port Harcourt city, Rivers State.

The dog was beaten to death after mobs discovered what it transformed from.

8. El Rufai Says Onnoghen, Shameless

Nasir El Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State has described the suspended chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen as a shameless judge who has shown that he is no longer fit to continue in office.

El Rufai, while addressing the protesters that stormed government House, Kaduna calling for the resignation of the CJN, said it was time for every well meaning Nigerian to support president Buhari in his fight against corruption.

9. Lawyers Resume Work in Anambra Courts After a Two-Day Boycott

The lawyers in Anambra state on Thursday resumed work after boycotting all forms of legal practices as directed by the National Executive Committee, NEC of the Nigerian Bar Association which asked all members of NBA to do so in their various branches nationwide, in protest against the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Total compliance was recorded by the Anambra NBA chapter as lawyers in the eight branches of NBA in the state were reportedly absent in  courts on Tuesday and Wednesday.

10. NYSC Calls For Adequate Security of Corps Members

NYSC Coordinator in Niger State, Theresa Arokoyo, has called on stakeholders to provide adequate security for corps members during  the upcoming elections.

Arokoyo made the call at a forum of stakeholder in Minna on Thursday.

Also, Head of Public Relations of NYSC,Favour Albert, hinted the same safety concerns for corp members.

However, Director of DSS in Niger State, Dauda Abubakar gave the assurance that adequate security will be provided for corp members who he said was on National assignment.

11. Fire Razes Kano Market Stalls in Sabon Gari

Kano State Fire Service says fire has destroyed four temporary shops at Kasuwar Mariri (Yan Itace) Market in Dawakin Local Government Area in Kano.

Spokesman for the State Fire Service, Saidu Mohammed, who disclosed this in Kano, on Thursday, said the four shops were razed completely.

He said they received a distress call in the early hours of Friday at about 2:38 a.m., from one Ismail Mohammed stating that there was fire outbreak at the market.

12 INEC Says It Plans to Deploy 13,394 Adhoc Staff for Ebonyi Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC said it was going to deploy 13, 394 Adhoc staff for the 2019 general elections in the State.

This was stated by the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Godswill Obioma on Thursday at the Commission’s headquarters in Abakaliki while briefing newsmen on its preparedness for the forthcoming elections.

According to him, both serving and ex-corpers including Nigerian students in their penultimate year in  higher institutions formed part of the adhoc staff recruited to take part in the election.

13. CUPP Prays Court to Declare Buhari Medically Unfit

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), on Thursday, prayed the Abuja Division of Federal High Court to declare President Muhammadu Buhari medically unfit for the office of President.

Spokesman forCUPP, Ikenga Ugochinyere, while briefing the journalists in Abuja, cited some examples with which he alleged that President Buhari had demonstrated that he was medically unsound to rule the country for another four years.

He argued further that Nigerians needed to be saved from an impending disaster with Buhari as president.
