Group Sues Buhari Over Executive Order Licensed Guns

A group has sued president Muhammadu Buhari over the Executive Order he gave to withdraw gun licences given to licenced gun owners.

The board of Incorporated Trustees of Malcolm Omirhobo Foundation dragged the president before the Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge the orderin the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/564/2019, asking the court to retrain the order and rule that the president has no power to render law-abiding Nigerian Citizens with licensed guns defenceless through proclamation revoking, prohibiting and/or banishing their firearm or shotgun License Certificate with effect from June 1 or any date in future.

President Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its humanitarian role, passing a vote of confidence on the intervention programmes of the various institutions under the organisation for the impact they are making on Nigeria and other African countries.

While reading the collective statement of African countries at the 14th Summit of the OIC in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, President Buhar also commended the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for its robust interventions in key sectors such as agriculture, trade and investment.
