Tope Alabi – Why I Still Take Public Transport

Tope Alabi is unarguably one of the top gospel artiste in the country. She recently made waves on the internet with her spontaneous worship song “Logan ti o de”, with Celebrity photographer, TY Bello. In a recent interview with Sunday beats, the prolific singer revealed that she composed 16 songs on the day she did the collaboration with TY Bello.

According to Tope Alabi, she has made a conscious effort not to live a fake life like other artiste, and this includes taking public transport.

“I still go to the market to buy groceries; I don’t like the idea of living the life of a celebrity. Sometimes when I want to go out, I take public transport. There was a day I boarded the BRT bus in Lagos to get to the popular Balogun market; I could hear the passengers whispering to one another.

“They were arguing if I was the one or not. They were saying Tope Alabi is not a poor person so there is no way she will be on a public bus. When I was about to alight from the bus, I revealed my identity to the driver, and this made many of the passengers to also get down from the bus to take pictures with me.

Tekno – I Need Time for Full Recovery Before Returning to Music

Popular artiste, Augustine Kelechi, aka Tekno, has attributed the cancellation of his already booked shows to an undisclosed illness.

The Pana crooner, who shared this on his Instagram page, on Thursday also announced that he would be taking some time to fully recover before getting back to making music.

He wrote @teknoofficial, “I have been away and on treatment, please don’t be upset that I can ’t make it to shows I have been booked for .”

Tekno added that he was hoping to get back to what he loved doing the most as soon as possible, and solicited fans ’ prayers and apologized for the inconveniences caused.

“I am taking time out to fully recover and hopefully get back to doing what I love most soonest. I apologize; and if you can, please pray for me. God watch over us all, thank you.”

Tiwa Savage Recounts Music Journey in British Vogue 

Popular Singer, Tiwa Savage has been featured in the December 2018 edition of British Vogue. Tiwa, who recently made history as the first African female to win Best African Act at the MTV EMAs, chronicled her music journey as a female artist in Africa. The popular artiste revealed the news in a series of posts on her Instagram page @tiwasavage. In the feature, she talked about the challenges she faced as a female Afropop artiste and how she framed her own distinctive voice.

Tiwa stated that she had to return to Nigeria to pursue music after she discovered that while the industry was growing, there were no females doing it on the same level as the men.

The feature excerpt quotes her as saying, “ In everything I do – whether it’s using my native language, or an African beat – something is going to let you know I am an African woman.

“Against all advice – everybody was like, nobody is going to listen to African music, I moved back to Nigeria,” Tiwa said.

Saka – I Will Not Ditch Teaching For Acting

Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, is a popular comic actor in advertisements and Nollywood movies. An actor best known for his extraordinary gift of clowning, Oyetoro has appeared in several films, including Wedding Party and Ojukokoro. Yet, unknown to many of his fans, he is as much a hardworking and committed academic who teaches drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin in Lagos State, as he is a talented comic actor.

In an interview with correspondents, the actor said he had no plans to quit teaching for a full-time career in acting. He said, “There is little or no difference between teaching and acting. I enjoy doing both. When you teach in the classroom, you are officially disseminating information. It is almost the same thing as what an actor does on stage or in a film. An actor entertains and at the same time, passes a message to his audience.

“My work as a teacher of theatre arts enhances my practical methodology. When I go outside the classroom to act in a movie or on stage, I gain additional experience and bring back it to the classroom. Such experience enhances my teaching methodology.”

American Actress Gabrielle Union and Husband Welcome Baby Via Surrogate 

American actress and author, Gabrielle Union and her husband, Dwayne Wade have welcomed a baby girl through a surrogate.

The 46 -year – old shared the news on social media with adorable photos of her and basketball player husband holding their first baby together.

She wrote: “A lovely day. We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the loveliest of all the lovely days.
