– She disclosed that they want Tanko Muhammed removed because they know he would be in office till 2023 when another election will take place

According to a recent report, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari’s personal assistant on Social Media, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie in a statement has alleged that there is a plot by the opposition party to see to it that the acting Chief Judge of Nigeria CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammed is removed.

She disclosed that the opposition is plotting to make this a reality because they know that Tanko Muhammed will remain in office till 2023 when another election will come up.

Pres. Muhammadu Buhari made Justice Tanko Muhammed the acting CJN in January following the suspension of Walter Onnoghen based on an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT over failure to declare his asset as stated in the law.

The President few days ago had also gone ahead to extend Justice Tanko Muhammed stay in office as the acting CJN by three months after Walter Onnoghen was convicted by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Reports also made it known that the National Judicial Council NJC gave their support on the extension of Tanko Muhammed as the country’s acting CJN.

Pres. Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Social Media, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie in a tweet via her Twitter handle wrote:

They are battling to remove him from office.

“They know he will still be Chief Justice of Nigeria during the next General elections because he will be in office until Dec 31st, 2023 when he turns 70

“His name is Justice Tanko Muhammad, the Acting Chief Justice of our great nation.”
