Liverpool Vs Bournemouth EPL 09 February Preview

Liverpool will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host Bournemouth at Anfield. The Reds have dropped points in their last two matches and seen City take top spot. They will be licking their lips at the thought of playing an inconsistent Bournemouth.

Liverpool

The Reds only few matches ago, were ten points ahead of Manchester City. However, they have thrown their lead to the dogs with City occupying pole position in the league at the moment on goal difference.

Liverpool are without a top-flight title since 1990 but have their destinies in their hands considering that they have an extra game to play.

Despite talks from Anfield suggesting that the team isn’t under any pressures to win a title, they have shown just the opposite with draws against Leicester City and West Ham United suggesting that they might just be collapsing under pressure of league title talks. Indeed, they had never lost points to a team outside the ‘Big Six’ before then.

However, there have been telling signs of weakness in the team for some time now having managed to scrape past Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion.

That said, the Merseyside club will need all that they can muster to outscore Bournemouth convincingly well and most importantly, gain all three points.

Bournemouth

The Cherries gaffer must be wondering what to make exactly of his team the moment. Despite a convincing win against one of the best sides in the league, Chelsea, Bournemouth have pretty much been inconsistent in the league with their performances away from home very appalling.

Speaking of inconsistency and form away from home, Bournemouth  have lost their last eight games on away from home and have managed only one goal in their last six games across all competitions.

They should count themselves lucky to occupy 10th place on the log. Having said those, Howe must be quite aware that a surprise win against Liverpool will help the team’s confidence and possibly get them a winning run that could stir them to Europa league final spot.
