Liverpool Vs Huddersfield Town EPL 26 April Preview

Liverpool have the chance once again to go top and establish themselves as league leaders in the topsy-turvy race when they take on basement club and already relegated team, Huddersfield Town at Anfield on Friday night.

Manchester City regained control of the title race when they claimed victory over local rivals,

Manchester United in what seemed to many to be their toughest remaining test – the Manchester derby.

For their part, Liverpool can only continue to pile up pressure on Manchester City and ensure that they themselves do not slip-up at any point.

Liverpool have been beaten only once this season, in an away game to Manchester City and have remained unbeaten in 14 games since then.

It is heart burning to think that Klopp’s men could end the season with a tally high, 97 points and end up not lifting the Premier League title.

They have surpassed their record point tally in the top-flight and can only be hopeful that Manchester City somehow drop points in their final three games and they themselves go on to win their remaining games.

Huddersfield Town

Whereas this season could live long in the hearts of many Liverpool fans especially if they end up lifting the title, the season is one Huddersfield fans will be willing to forget as soon as possible.

They might have evaded the ignominy of rivalling Derby County for the worst point tally in the division’s history, they are indeed in talks regarding the worst season in the Premier League era.

The sack of David Wagner and appointment of Jan Siewert could not alleviate the Terriers of their woes. Infact, since the appointment of Jan Siewert in January, the Terriers have lost 11 of 12 games including losing seven in a row.

It might be embarrassing to say that only Derby County have had a worse point tally than

Huddersfield to term but adding salt to injury is mentioning that only two teams in Premier League history have scored fewer goals after 35 games than the already relegated club.

The Terriers have failed to score in eight of their nine away games and the game at Anfield might be no different.
