Benue state is located in the middle-belt region of Nigeria. It is a state that is regarded as the meeting point between the northern and southern cultures. This state is occupied chiefly by the Igede, Tiv and Idoma peoples and is responsible for feeding the nation.

1. Ado Local Government Area

History of Ado Local Government Area

Ado LGA was created in 1991, it was once part of Okpokwu LGA. It is an LGA in the southern senatorial zone of Benue state and is occupied majorly by the Idomas. This LGA has its headquarters at Igumale and is very rich in natural resources such as coal, limestone and petroleum.

This LGA occupies the north eastern axis of Benue state. It shares boundaries with Otukpo, Obi, Oju Ogadigbo, and Opokwu LGAs.

Gboko doubles as both a town and an LGA in Benue state. It is a town that is dominated by the Tivs and has a population of over 500,000. Gboko LGA although a very rapidly growing town is still very underdeveloped. It lacks both adequate infrastructure as well as employment opportunities.

Konshisha LGA in Benue state has its headquarters in Tse-Agberagba and an area of 1,673m². It was created in 1983 from Vandeikya LGA. However, one year after its creation, it was scrapped and recreated in 1989 by Gen Ibrahim Babangida. This LGA is occupied majorly by the Tivs.
