History of Warri Southwest Local Government Area
This Local Government Area was created in 1997 and has an area of 1,722km². It is inhabited by the Itsekiri and the Ijaw people and has its headquarters in Ogbe-Ijoh town. This LGA is very popular for very frequent communal clashes and has one of the highest oil reserves in the Niger-Delta.
