Yobe state is located in the northeast axis of Nigeria. It was created in 1991 and has been very badly affected by the activities of Boko Haram Insurgents in Northeast Nigeria. Yobe state covers an area of 45,502km² and comprises of 16 Local Government Areas.

Bade Local Government Area in Yobe state covers an area of 772km². It has its headquarters in Gashua town and has the Bade and Duwai languages as its dominant languages.
