Inter had gone ahead after Carlos fouled Lukaku for an Inter penalty. The Belgian stepped up to convert the spot-kick for his 34th goal of the season, extending his record of scoring in consecutive Europa League games to 11.

Luuk de Jong scored two headers via crosses from Jesus Navas and Ever Banega to restore parity and put the Europa League king in the lead as well.

Inter drew through Diego Godin, who nodded in Barella’s freekick to make it 2-2 in the 35th minute.

The tempo of the game reduced in the second half and it was looking that it will be decided in the extra time or penalties. But that won’t be the case as Carlos flew into the air to meet a high ball with an overhead kick which was probably going wide until Lukaku stuck out a leg and diverted it past his own goalkeeper.

Conte’s look for a European trophy as a manager continues and this was a first trophy in the managerial career of Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui. His side came into the tie unbeaten since February, a run of 21 games.
