Manchester City Vs Arsenal 3 February Review

Manchester City outclassed Arsenal in a 3-1 win over the North London Club with Unai Emery still short of recording a win against Pep Guardiola in 12 games.

City talisman, Segio Aguero recorded a hatrick – his 10th in the Premier League, second to Alan Shearer’s 11 – after scoring his first within just one minute into the game for the second time in a row following his 24 seconds goal against Newcastle.

It took just few seconds for Aymeric Laporte to latch on to an error in the Gunners defence, sending an in-swing cross to Aguero who connected to it and got a goal via a header.

Arsenal unrelenting and unwilling to give-in so easily got the goal soon after with Koscielny getting a go at City’s goal with a fine header following a corner and some sloppiness from David Silva.

Manchester City got on the front foot once more, dominating the midfield in such exquisite fashion. Fernandinho must be praised for the vital role he played in the match.

Worthy of note is that Fernandinho was deployed as a centre-back who would frequently run into the midfield to give City more numbers at the middle of the park whenever the defending champions were in possession of the ball.

This genius improvising of Guardiola made all the difference against an outwitted and outclassed Unai Emery side.

This extra-man in the midfield helped them keep the ball and release the ball to Raheem Sterling who was on hand to swing-in a cross into the box. Aguero once more was on the receiving end as he left no margin for error, slotting the ball into an empty net. How much of a poacher really is this guy?

Aguero got on the extrasheet for the third time with Sterling proving provider once more.

Worthy of note is that all goals by the Argentinean was scored in the six-yard box. A hatrick never gets tastier than that.
