Mane Tells Robertson That Watford’s Sarr Could “Kill” Him

Sadio Mane has sent notes of warning to Liverpool’s left-back in Andy Robertson asking him to be wary of a clash against Watford winger and compatriot, Ismail Sarr.

The winger joined Watford from Rennes on Premier League transfer deadline day and Mane is confident that Sarr has what it takes to take England by storm.

The Hornets paid £30million to have the Senegalese in their ranks. However, he is yet to feature for then this campaign.

Sarr was absent in Watford’s defeats to Brighton and Everton but he would be in contention for a start when they play hosts to West Ham this weekend.

Mane tips the 21 year old to cause the league’s left-back a trick load of problems including Liverpool Scottish International and former Hull City player, Andy Robertson.

The first day he signed I sent him a message to say good luck and that I was happy for him,” Mane told The Athletic .

“He’s rapid. I think defenders will struggle. Last time I was speaking to Robbo I said ‘ Watford have a really good player. I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast’.

“I’m really happy for him and he made the right choice to come to Watford. For sure I think he will be great.”

Despite his insistence on his compatriot being an incredible player, Mane thinks Watford fans should be patient with Sarr as it is known that adjusting to life in the Premier League for many players could take some time.

Mane speaking on Sarr who has now featured 26 times for his country said Watford fans need to show him support.

“I feel I need to protect him at the beginning because even though he is a really good player it is not easy in the Premier League, because I had that sort of problem,” he said.

“If there are problems to start off with then people need to take care of him, go easy on him and especially the fans need to support him and give him confidence for a great future.”

Liverpool lock horns with Watford on December 14 before making a trip to Vicarage road on February 29 for the reverse fixture.
