Maradona Interested In Being Manager At Manchester United

Argentine legend, Maradona has surprisingly shown interest in being the next Manchester United manager should the club decide to part ways with its present manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The former Napoli man delivered a pitch on why he should be the next manager at Old Trafford claiming, “I’m the man to do it.”

Solskjaer made a spectacular start in charge of the red devils after replacing Portuguese gaffer, Jose Mourinho but a series of poor performances since he was signed as United manager on a permanent basis put them in sixth position, away from Champions league football come next season.

Maradona is currently the manager of Dorados in the Mexican second tier but insisted that he could cause a real shake up of the stale squad at Manchester United and also possesses the global commercial appeal to do the job.

The World Cup winner in an interview with FourFourTwo said:

“If Manchester United need a coach, I’m the man to do it,” “I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.”

Maradona also pointed out that United midfielder, Paul Pogba doesn’t work hard enough.
He said Manchester United used to be his favourite English team for a long time under the stead of Sir Alex Ferguson but that he has now made a switch to Manchester City because of Sergio Kun Aguero who is his son-in-law highlighting that the Citizens have a good team.

“Manchester United used to be my favourite English team for so long. So many great players and a great team under Alex Ferguson.

But now I have to say Man City. I know you shouldn’t change like that but it’s because of Kun. We speak a lot and he plays in a very good team.”
