Maryam Sanda: Who Will Take Care of Her Children?, Fani-Kayode Asks
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode is wondering who will now take care of the children of Maryam Sanda, who recently got sentenced to death by hanging by a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja yesterday.
Justice Yusuf Halilu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, had in his ruling convicted and sentenced Sanda to death by hanging.
In his ruling, the judge said that there was circumstantial evidence coupled with her testimony and statement to the police that she “fatally” stabbed her husband to death in Abuja on November 19, 2017.

Reacting to the trending issue, Fani-Kayode described the situation as a tragedy.
“First, the wife stabs the husband to death in a fit of jealous rage, and now she has been sentenced to death by hanging. This is so sad! Who will take care of their children now? What a tragedy!” he tweeted.

The judge also ordered that she should be remanded in Suleja prison till she exhausts her right of appeal.
Her deceased husband has been variously reported as a son or nephew of a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Haliru Bello.
