Meek Mill and Trey Songz had a brief beef in Instagram today over giving to the community.
It started when Meek Mill posted a picture showing off some cash along with the caption, “Ain’t no such thing as being real with people that’s tryna use you!”
Trey responded to the post by challenging the rapper to accept his #FeedYourCityChallenge.
Meek became defensive as he listed the donations he had made to the community;
“200k to Philadelphia schools…my phantom for less fortunate 400K….and help raised 50 mill for reform @treysongz don’t try me like that!” Meek fired.
In response, Trey Songz asked why Meek Mill feels attacked and emphasized that he recognizes what he does to the community and he was trying to challenge him like he challenged other people to further help.
“So @meekmill apparently felt a way bout me challenging him to the #feedyourcitychallenge. He felt the need to tell me what he’s already done, hopefully not realizing I tapped on him because of how much I know he’s already doing for his community,” Trey explained. “That’s great you donated fam, that’s great you helping prison reform, that’s great you gave ya phantom. I’m simply trying to bring us together to further help our communities. You offended? Lol, you got it!”
Meanwhile, it didn’t stop there. Meek said Trey was trying to put him on the spot and it’s “dumb” for an artist to tell another artist to donate. The conversation ended when Trey wrote that he tried to reach the rapper through calls and DM.
