Messi Knocked Out Of Copa America By 36-Yr-Old Dani Alves And Co

A competent Brazil team has effortlessly put an end to a lacklustre Messi and Argentina showing at the Copa America, securing a ticket in the continent’s competition finals.

Brazil started on the front foot, pouring out like a swarm of genetically improved, furious yellow and blue bees ready to sting the Alberceleste on every side. Argentina were stung, starved of the ball and were lacking power in every department.

Dani Alves, 36 and Gabriel Jesus were particularly impressive for the Selecaos. With Brazil’s Everton neatly tucked into the pocket of the towering Juan Foyth, the Brazilians had no other option than to go through the right with Dani Alves powering down the flank like he was an academy player hunting down a first team shirt. He was that good!

He made neat passes, inch-perfect crosses all across the field like it was a cross word puzzle. He was soon rewarded for his pursuits as he worked the ball well down the right flank setting up Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus to slot it home.

An International trophy has remained the only argument against Messi in all-time greats talks and is not going to stop any sooner.

Though, Messi did himself some good by emerging strong after the break. Leo went close but his ball did nothing more than rattle Allison’s post halfway through the half.

He was embattled, bitter and desperately searched for a goal but none of that mattered to Brazil who never looked like they were missing injured Neymar. They broke out on the counter with the blistering pace of Jesus with the Manchester City man providing a delightful assist for Liverpool forward, Roberto Firmino.

With Argentina knocked out by two goals with no reply, one would wonder what such bunch of firepower in Aguero, Messi, Le Celso, Dybala, Di Maria and Higuain offered really. What a complete waste!

Messi still continues his quest for an International trophy. Whether that would turn out a reality or remain a dent on his successful career still remains unclear.
