Mother And Child Crushed To Death By Truck In Ogun State

Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun State, Today, confirmed in a statement that there was an accident that claimed the lives of three people in Ogun State.

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed that a Mack truck that was filled with soft drinks on yesterday crushed a woman and her child to death in an accident which also killed the truck’s Motor Boy at Ajibawo in Atan on Sango /Idiroko road, Ogun State.

The Spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, informed sources that the accident happened around 5:45 pm and was caused by wrongful overtaking of a car, complicated and worsened by the loss of control by the truck, marked, LSD 563 XW.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman of TRACE, further stated that four people were involved in the accident which constituted of about three male and one female, saying that two male and one female died in the accident while one person was injured.

According to the Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, he stated that:

“In the process of overtaking another truck ahead of it loaded with granite, the edge of the truck loaded with soft drinks entered a ditch which results in its fall, killing a woman and her child selling along the road and the motor boy,”

Babatunde Akinbiyi also added that the injured set of people had been taken to Oluwalogbon Hospital for immediate treatment, Atan prior to the arrival of TRACE officials while the dead bodies had been retrieved by their family members and relatives.

The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, urged car owners and people who drive cars and trucks to always obey traffic rules and regulations in order to avoid any regrettable stories afterwards.

He also urged motorists to avoid excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking of other cars on the Expressway.
