My Struggle Remains Nonviolent, Says Adeyanju As He Returns to Advocacy

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, is back on his feet after being attacked by suspected thugs in Abuja during a protest for the release of RevolutionNow protest convener, Omoyele Sowore.

After returning from Dubai, where he got treatment for his injuries, Adeyanju said he would remain non-violent in his advocacy for good governance.

“Those who attacked us on the 23rd of December, 2019 should not rejoice yet. They and their sponsors haven’t gotten away with it yet. Our struggle remains non-violent resistance, but anyone who tries it again will not be lucky next time. We are ready,” he tweeted.

On the trial of the former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, Adeyanju said the ruling government is beyond sick.

“I just left Shehu Sani now, and he told me all that happened. This government is beyond sick. The 14 days detention order expires tomorrow. Free Shehu Sani now.”

He further took a swipe at President Muhamadu Buhari, saying he is unfit to lead Nigeria.

“Let me specially thank Egbon @realFFK for rebuilding the bridge of friendship with my brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu & yes, I expressed regrets over many of my criticism of him. It’s only in a Zoo that characters like Buhari are fit to be leaders. Nigeria never had it this bad before,” he added.

Adeyanju, Sowore, and human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, were in a strategic meeting earlier in Abuja. Although the details of the meeting not known, it could be related to the present case of alleged treason and other crimes brought against Sowore.
