Nationwide Broadcast on COVID-19: Buhari Didn’t Address Insecurity -Aisha Yesufu

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari over his nationwide broadcast but noted that he didn’t address issues surrounding insecurity.
While lambasting those who said there is no need of the address with government agencies address the country on daily basis about the steps taken to combat COVID-19, he also lauded the speechwriter for a job well done.
She added that it is now left for the President to do his part in keeping the country safe.
Buhari had during the broadcast ordered total lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja for two weeks in a bid to curtail the spread of the virus.
“Yesufu took to her Twitter page and wrote: “To all those who said the President didn’t need to address the country SHAME ON YOU! To those who insisted the President must address the country WELL DONE! To the President’s speechwriter, YOU DID GOOD! To the President for reading fairly well and getting COVID-19 right GOOD JOB!
“The speechwriter that wrote the Presidential address did a great job touching on the different issues except for INSECURITY. Let’s wait & see if the President will do his own part & deliver greatly. The citizens must also do their part & monitor diligently! God bless Nigeria.”
