Ngolo Kante Out For Up To Three Weeks

Ngolo Kante could be facing three weeks out by the sidelines due to injury says Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard. According to the English gaffer, the Blues remain without a number of stars. However, the English duo of Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are now available for selection.

While Kante is out for about three weeks, the duration for Christian Pulisic’s injury still remains unknown. Chelsea saw the World Cup winning midfielder sustain an injury in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over them at the Stamford Bridge.

Kante could only feature in that game for 12minutes before being forced down the tunnel due to injury.

Lampard concedes that the former Leicester man would be unavailable for selection for the foreseeable future.

Chelsea would however be able to call on Loftus-Cheek for the first time this season, as they make preparations for their London derby against Tottenham. Andreas Christensen is also available after fitting a face mask to keep in place his broken nose.

The Blues leading goalscorer and first-choice forward, Tammy Abraham is also back to the squad after sustaining an injury in the Blues 2-2 draw with Leicester City.

Lampard on giving fitness updates about the squad said:

“N’Golo is not fit, muscle injury. Similar to Arsenal. Hopefully three weeks.

“Pulisic not fit, no exact date. A difficult injury.

“Ruben is in the squad. Not fit to start, but in the squad.

“Andreas went to get a mask and has trained with it. Available for selection.

“Tammy has trained the last two days. Probably 70%. He is in the squad.”

In addition, he said:

“This season is a transitional year, and fans appreciate that.

“Not many teams have had our injuries. Kante has played 50% of the games. The fans respect that and they see what we try to do. They will be there to support us.

“It is tight at the moment and we need the fans behind us. The players will give everything.”
