1. Aisha Buhari, Gov. Okorocha Clash in Owerri

Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari has disagreed with Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State after the governor announced that he will support Buhari for Presidency but will not support the APC governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma. He boasted that his son in-law, Uche Nwosu will win the governorship election in the state.

Aisha Buhari, who was represented by Mrs Osibanjo, wife of the Vice president spoke at the South East Women and youths rally which held at Owerri.

There were gunshots from security operatives when the wife of the Imo State governor was addressing the crowd.

There were also clashes between the supporters of Uche Nwosu and those of Senator Uzodinma which led to two women sustaining gunshot wounds.

2. 150 Sans Volunteer to Defend CJN At Tribunal

No fewer than 150 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) have volunteered to come in, in the defense of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen on Monday, before the Justice Danladi Yakubu led-Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

This is coming after the FG’s resolve to arraign and prefer criminal charges against the CJN on Monday January 14 2019 before the CCT in Abuja over alleged failure to declare his assets as required by law and for operating Bank Domiciliary Foreign Currency Accounts.

Constitutional lawyer, Sebastine Hon, SAN in a telephone chat with Daily Trust on Saturday revealed that the number of world class lawyers that have volunteered to defend the CJN might even be more than 150.

3. What CJN Told Code of Conduct Bureau

A detail of a statement by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, to the Code of Conduct Bureau which is accusing him of not declaring his assets has been obtained by Premium Times.

In one note, Mr Onnoghen said he “forgot to update his asset declaration, after the expiration of his 2005 declaration”.

Mr Onnoghen also explained that he believed that the form ‘SCN 000015’ filed in December 2016 after he emerged acting CJN would cover for the period after his confirmation as CJN.

The case against Mr Onnoghen came after a group, the Anti-Corruption and Research Based Data Initiative, sent a petition against him to the CCT alleging wrongdoing in his asset declaration.

The group said the CJN, Nigeria’s most senior judicial officer, maintained illegal foreign currencies accounts.

The group’s head, Denis Aghanya, is a member of the APC and was also reported to be a former publicity secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change.

4. Dino Melaye Moved From DSS Health Facility to SARS Office

The police have moved Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, to the federal special anti-robbery squad (FSARS) office in Guzape district, Abuja.

On Friday, the police transferred the senator from their hospital to a Department of State Service (DSS) health facility after he complained that he was not getting better.

The police hospital had certified him fit for trial.

An associate of the senator had this to say,“They moved him to SARS office in Guzape. The police moved him without any word. We don’t know what they want to do now,” the associate said.

Last week, the senator surrendered to the police following an 8-day siege laid to his Abuja residence after he was accused of culpable homicide against a police officer identified as Danjuma Saliu on july 19 2018 in Kogi State.

Jimoh Moshood, police spokesman, revealed that the police obtained a warrant to keep Melaye for 14 days.

5. GOD FORBID!!! – Tonto Dike Rejects Prayer to Get Back With Ex-husband

An overzealous follower of Tonto Dikeh took to her Instagram account to say a prayer that she reconciles with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, because it is “un-African to be a single parent”.

But Tonto rejected the prayer of the fan, @tobi_nextlevel saying: “MAY GOD FORBID SUCH A PRAYER IJN.”

She added: “Thanks for the evil wishes, I know you intended well.”

6. Tormentor of Muhammadu Buhari – Reno Omokri

According to Reno Omokri’s twitter Profile @renoomokiri, he is the “Tormentor” of Muhammadu Buhari.

7. Statistics of Registered Voters for 2019 Elections

According to INEC’s 2019 election voters register, the statistics of the registered voters for the 2019 general elections is as follows:

North West: 20,158,100

South West: 16,292,212

North Central: 13,366,070

South South: 12,841,279

North East: 11,289,293

South East: 10,057,130

8. Many Crushed as Trailer Crashes into Market in Ekiti

Many people have been reported dead after an articulated vehicle lost control and ran into a market in Iworoko Ekiti Saturday evening.

Iworoko Ekiti is home to a large number of students of Ekiti State University due to its proximity to the institution’s main campus.

Eye witness accounts said the accident occurred during the market peak period.

A large number of sympathizers were seen wailing at the scene of the accident.

9. Don’t Throw Nigeria into Crisis over Planned Sack of CJN, Atiku Warns Buhari

The Presidential Candidate of the PDP has sounded a statement of warning to President Muhammadu Buhari and APC not to throw Nigeria into an avoidable crisis over what he described as their desperation to sack the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said the principle of separation of powers is still required in a democracy “irrespective of what President Buhari is being told by his starry-eyed advisers or the buttons they are pressing to forcefully remove the CJN.”

Atiku said the plot to sack Justice Onnoghen is only a cog in a very big machine of Buhari’s plot to rig the elections knowing full well the role that the judiciary plays in the final outcome of elections.

10. 4 Ex-PDP Governorship Aspirants Defect to APC in Niger

Four former governorship aspirants of the PDP in Niger state have defected to the APCalong with their supporters.

The defectors were received by Mr Adeniyi Adebayo, Deputy National Chairman, APC South, on behalf of the National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomonle at the launching of the state governorship campaign in Minna on Saturday.

They include Mr Ahmed Ibeto, Alhaji Hanafi Sudan, Mr Ahmed Baka, Mr Umaru Ahmed popularly known as Dogon Koli.
