1. Kanu Nwankwo’s Saddest Day as All of His Medals Get Stolen

Nwankwo Kanu said on Tuesday that he had suffered the “saddest day” of his life after finding out every medal he had won had vanished from a Lagos property of his.

Kanu lamented the “rude shock” of learning that a host of cherished keepsakes earned over his football career had disappeared from his “Hardly Apartments,” a Lagos property that is at the centre of a legal dispute.

“This is the saddest day of my life as I cannot understand why this happened to me,” he said.

2. Saraki Snubs IGP Idris at Armed Forces Remembrance Day

The cold relationship between the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was openly displayed on Tuesday in Abuja during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, with the Saraki snubbing a handshake extended to him by the police boss.

Both were at the event held at the National Archade, Abuja, to mark the climax of the activities of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.

3. NATFORCE Accuse Governors and Politicians of Stockpiling Ammunitions

As next month’s Presidential elections preparations take full gear, the Director General of National Taskforce on Small Arms, Light and Chemical Weapons ( NATFORCE), Dr Emmanuel Okereke on Tuesday accused some state governors and other politicians across the country of stockpiling arms and ammunition that they would use to cause mayhem.

Briefing Journalists in Abuja, the NATFORCE boss said: “Due to lack of a legally established specific body or commission as obtainable in 14 out of the 16 countries in the West African Sub-region ,all manner of ammunitions have been illegally brought into the country ahead of the coming elections by high-class political players including some state governors.”

4. Buhari Fumes at Atiku Over Corruption Allegations

President Buhari on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent verbal attacks launched on him by PDP Atiku. He charged Nigerians to separate the chaff from the wheat in order to ascertain the real situation of things.

The president’s reaction followed the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s strongly worded statement accusing the president and a son-in-law of corruption through actions in a government agency headed by the latter.

5. What I’ll do as New IGP – Adamu

The newly-appointed acting IGP, Abubakar Mohammed Adamu has said that he would stick by the rules in piloting the affairs of the police.

Speaking after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari alongside his predecessor, Ibrahim Idris, Adamu said he would work hard to address the insecurity challenges facing the country.

Concerning the elections, he added: “Well, we are professionals. We are going to stick by the rules; we are going to do the right thing”.

6. Contenders Emerge for Throne of Emir of Lafia

Three days after the demise of the 16th Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai I, seven princes have been shortlisted for screening into the throne.

According to a source in the palace, the major contenders out of the about 47 princes who are vying to be Emirs have submitted their requests to the Lafia Kingmakers.

Two ruling houses have been gazetted for Lafia by the Nasarawa State Government; they are the Ari and the Dall.

7. Debate Isn’t By Force, Leave Buhari Alone – Shehu Sani

According to a tweet on Shehu Sanis verified twitter account addressing Nigerians, “If Baba no wan debate make you leave am;abi na by force? All the talk wey he dey talk everyday no do you? Una just want make he come then u begin disgrace am with quote China this China that;If na China talk dey sweet una,Baba don go there tire.Make una take your time o!” The lawmaker mocked President Buhari.

8.Abacha Jailed Your Father, Buhari Aided Him – Reno Omokri To Jamiu Abiola

When Jamiu Abiola pleaded with Nigerians to vote for Buhari to honour his father he never expected the venom with which Nigerians would come after him for “rubbishing” his father’s legacy over a pot of soup.

Now Reno Omokri has joined those calling out jamu he wrote:

Dear Jamiu Abiola, he tweeted, “Voting for @MBuhari does NOT honour your father because when Abacha threw your father in jail, he had an accomplice by his side whose duty it was to legitimise his government and that man’s name is Buhari. Voting Buhari is a dishonour to your dad”.

9. Sowore Muted By Channels TV  During Debate

During the recently concluded presidential debate on corruption and development organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), when it got to Sowore turn to speak, the channel was suddenly muted from the hearing of viewers and the coverage became distorted.

The debate was broadcasted live by Channels TV.

The question everyone is now asking is: “Was this a sabotage or just an unusual coincidence?”

Channels have also excluded Sowore from the national presidential debate on the 19th

APC were absent from the Tuesday debate.

10. NURTW Suspends Mastermind of APC Lag Rally Attack, Kunle Poly

Following the violent clash at the APC Campaign rally on Tuesday, 8th January 2019, the national leadership of Road Transport Workers Union has suspended one of the union’s factional leaders in Lagos, Azeez Lawal, popularly called Kunle Poly.

Accordingly, the union also resolved to set up a committee to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the clashes during the APC rally in Lagos.

Kunle Poly is allegedly responsible for the disruption of the rally which held in Ikeja and also for the stabbing of Musiliu Akinsanya, known famously as MC Oluomo.
