1. Wife of Victim of Fake Anti-malaria Drug Speaks Out

In recent interview on January 2nd precisely, Chinonso,  wife of a victim of a fake anti-malaria drug and mother of his son, recounted how she felt when he passed away three years after their wedding.

According to her, she felt betrayed by God.

She said, “My husband and I lived a faith based life. When he died, I lived in denial because I felt betrayed by God that my husband, a Gospel artiste, could die. I fell into depression, shaved my hair & wouldn’t accept inspirational messages from well wishers”.

2. Shehu Sani Reacts to Katsina, Northern States ‘Being Under Siege’

Reacting in a post on his Twitter page, Sani affirmed Gov. Masari’s outcry that Katsina State and other northern states have been besieged by bandits.

The Kaduna lawmaker commended the Governor for speaking up concerning insecurity in the state, adding that Kaduna State was also under siege.

“Same goes with parts of Kaduna and Niger State, Zamfara Killing fields is well known. I commend the Governor for telling the bitter truth.” he said.

3. Fr. Mbaka Predicts APC Winner of Imo Governorship Election

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has predicted the winner of the governorship election in Imo State.

The fiery preacher said the governorship candidate of the APC, in the State, Senator Hope Uzodinma will win.

Mbaka spoke during the 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration at his Adoration Ground in Emene.

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the event by Senator Uzodinma, who announced N2 million for breaking of kolanut by Buhari.

He also announced that Buhari will build a hospital in the adoration ground.

Responding, Mbaka said “Uzodimna would become the next governor by the grace of God.”

4. Fayemi Orders Clearing of Ekiti Highway Bushes over Kidnapping

Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has ordered immediate clearing of bushes on the major highways to curtail the kidnappings and other violent crimes across the state.

He urged the residents to always volunteer information to government and security agencies to enable them arrest and prosecute criminals.

5. Stop Linking Senate President to Offa Bank Robbery – Kwara Youths Warn Lai Mohammed

Youths in Kwara State have warned the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to stop making false claims linking the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to last year’s Offa bank robbery.

The  Kwara Youths Strategic Movement, gave the warning yesterday in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Gegele Ahmed Ibrahim.

Recall that the Minister had claimed that Saraki lied on radio that he donated N10m to Offa community after the Offa bank robbery.

But the group, warned Lai Mohammed to stop linking the Senate President to the bank robbery in a bid to score cheap political points ahead of next month’s general elections.

6. Total and Partners Begin Production from Egina Oil Field in Nigeria

Total and its partners have commenced production from the ultra-deep offshore Egina oil field contained in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 130 and located 150km off the coast of Nigeria.

The Egina oil field is expected to yield 200,000 barrels of oil per day at plateau. This would be equivalent to nearly 10% of Nigeria’s oil production.

Total said that the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) used for developing the field is the largest it has ever built.

7. Ogun APC Cautions Amosun over Outbursts against Abiodun

The Ogun State chapter of the APC has cautioned Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to be mindful of his outbursts against the party’s governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun

The party in its statement by the Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye, said the governor deserved to be pitied and prayed for, over his recent comments against the APC governorship candidate, a development he said is smacked of “outgoing syndrome, emanating from political amnesia and loss of touch with reality”.

8. NSE Loses N134bn on First Trading Day of 2019

The Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE as at the last trading day of 2018, the market capitalisation stood N11.7207 trillion, but fell by N134 billion to N11.5863 trillion on the first trading day of 2019.

Economic analysts have predicted a withdrawal of portfolio investors from Nigeria in 2019 in anticipation of the 2019 general elections, and expected economic uncertainty.

9. Boko Haram Not Better Equipped than Nigerian Army

Several videos had surfaced in recent times showing soldiers lamenting that they were given inferior weapons to fight against Boko Haram, which had superior weapons.

In a recent video, a soldier had bemoaned, “Many of our men have died. We have to go home. If Nigeria is ready, they can call us back to fight those idiots (terrorists).

However, the army said it would continue to fight the insurgent group until it wins despite the challenges.

“Boko Haram terrorists are not better equipped than the Nigerian Army. Nigerian Army is the pride of the nation,” the army said on its social media pages.

10. DJ XGee’s allegedly commits suicide, celebrities react

Comedian Atunyota Akpobome aka Alibaba and media personality, Dotun Kayode along with fans of Seun Omogaji aka DJ XGee have expressed shock over his alleged suicide.

DJ XGee, on Wednesday, reportedly took his life by ingesting an insecticide known as `sniper’ shortly after leaving a suicide note on his Instagram page.

Reacting to his death, Alibaba reposted one of DJ XGee’s recent posts which read, “Do more of what makes you happy. You are responsible for your happiness.” Alibaba, @alibabacfr, captioned his post, “The Seun I know, from Odo Street, Obalende, will not kill himself. But, in the meantime, Rest in Peace.”

Also, Dotun shared some of the last conversations he had with DJ XGee moments before news of his death broke out. Captioning the emotional post on his Instagram page @Do2dtun, he wrote, “One of our Last convo. AH SEUN! We talk say we go continue this hustle na. You and I no talk am like this.”

11. I’m Being Sexually Harassed By Men, Edo Assembly Female Candidate Cries Out

Edo State House of Assembly only female candidate seeking to represent Oredo West Constituency, Miss Charity Idahosa, says she is being sexually harassed by men over her political ambition.

Idahosa, contesting under the platform of Mass Action Joint Alliance, MAJA made the cry out in a chat with newsmen in Benin on Thursday.

She described the experience as frustrating, and a recurring negative trend against women in politics.

12. WAEC Extends Registration of WASSCE for Private Candidates

The West African Examination Council has extended registration for its WASSCE private candidates to Jan 11.
