Buhari, Atiku Contest Is Day Versus Night ― Ajimobi

Ahead Saturday’s visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to campaign his reelection, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has described the choice between Buhari and his main challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as two distinct and parallel lines.

Ajimobi likened the choice between Buhari and Atiku as the difference between day and night, progress and retrogression, integrity and corruption, credible and abysmal performance, insecticides and locusts, security and insecurity.

Doing this distinction while meeting with interest groups at state Secretariat, Ibadan, on Thursday, Ajimobi said only Nigerians without a sense of history will be campaigning a return of the PDP whose 16 years era was replete with corruption, abysmal performance in infrastructure and power among other sectors.


2019 Presidency: Atiku/Obi Gets Ohanaeze Backing

The Apex social cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku was endorsed on Thursday during a meeting of Imeobi, the highest decision making body of Ohanaeze.


AGSMEIS Initiative Targets Start-Ups, Others For Economic Development, Empowerment.

The Agri-Business Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS) has been re-echoed by the Branch Controller, Central Bank Of Nigeria, Mrs Daphne Ajuma Madojemu, that the initiative is targeted at start-ups and the expansion of established companies as well as the reviving of ailing companies to enhance job creation and agribusiness for a sustainable economy.

Speaking recently at the 2018 Ibadan Bankers Committee end of year dinner held at Waniq Event Centre, Ibadan, Madojemu reaffirmed that AGSMEIS is an initiative of Bankers committee to support and complement the Federal Government’s efforts at promoting Agribusiness/Small and Medium Enterprises.

She explained that the initiative requires all Deposit Money Banks to set aside five per cent (5%) of their annual profit after tax (PAT) to support and sustain the management of the initiative.

While commending the existing mutual support and collaboration between the CBN and DMB, Mr Madojemu enjoined all stakeholders to intensify efforts with the monetary and fiscal authorities so as to fully influence the return of Nigeria to the path of growth.

Speaking on behalf of the Obi-in-Council when Chief Great Ogboru Campaign train visited the palace on Thursday, the Ozoma of Ogwashi-Ukwu, Oluizele Lawrence Okolobi prayed to God to grant Ogboru victory this time around.

“We welcome you to our kingdom. And we pray that where you are going, God should take you there this time around.”

“And when you get there, ensure you remember to come and develop here. Although we are not making any demand, but let it be known that we are suffering in the land.”


APC NWC Dismisses Expulsion Of Hope Uzodinma

The All Progressive Congress, (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has dismissed the expulsion of its governorship candidate in Imo state, Senator Hope Udodinmma as null and void.

The dissolved state executive of the party led by Mr Dan Nwafor had announced the expulsion of Senator Uzodinma but the national secretariat of the party in a statement last night signed by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu said a caretaker committee led by Chief Marcelinus Nlemigbo was the only leadership accorded recognition to run the affairs of the party in Imo State.

The statement read in part: ” The attention of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party APC, has been drawn to the purported expulsion of our governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, through a statement signed by the former chairman of the party in Imo State, Mr Dan Nwafor.


FG Reassures Nigerians On Peaceful, Free, Fair, Elections

The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians of its commitment towards ensuring that the safe conduct of the forthcoming general elections, insisting that the elections will be free, fair and credible.

Minister of Interior, Lieutenant Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd) said this on Thursday in Abuja, according to a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry Mohammed Manga.

The Minister warned politicians against sponsoring political thuggery and violence in order to ensure peaceful and hitch-free conduct of the elections.


2019: Buhari Begins Southeast Zonal Rally In Enugu Amidst Tight Security

President Muhammadu Buhari, standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday stormed Enugu, the Enugu State capital for his Southeast zonal rally amidst tight security.

Buhari who had earlier arrived the Akanu Ibiam airport Enugu en-route to Onitsha Anambra State where he commissioned the Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe mausoleum was received by thousands of APC faithful at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu for the formal flag off of the party’s Southeast zonal campaign rally.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State had held a colourful airport reception for President Buhari to the admiration of the August visitor and his supporters.
