Nigeria Striker Victor Osimhen Signs For French Ligue 1 Club, Lille
Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has completed his long-awaited transfer to French Ligue 1 club, Lille Olympique Sporting Club after completing his medicals.
Though the final details of the switch remain sketchy to the public, a close source to the Golden Eagles striker who made an appearance at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations said that a 5 year deal was agreed by the 20 year old.
Victor Osimhen made this move to Lille from Belgian outfit, Sporting Charleroi.
The 20 year old would be a perfect replacement for Rafael Leao in Lille’s squad with the Portuguese on his way to AC Milan having being bought over in a £35 million deal.
Last season, Victor Osimhen who represented the Belgian outfit, Sporting Charleroi found the net 20 times including the record-breaking quickest goal in the history of the Belgian’s top flight and was subsequently declared as the club’s player of the season.
His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Senior team and a part of the Super Eagles squad to have made it to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt where they lifted the bronze medal.
The youngster in his move to Lille said:
“Lille is a very good club that has a high quality project and attracts players with great class, even more so than ever before in recent years.
“Great Nigerian players have also played here. I want to commit myself to following in their footsteps. I am therefore very happy to be here and to join this great club called Lille.
“I am still very young, I am learning and I think that this project suits me perfectly to continue to progress,” Victor explained.
He has been courted by top European clubs in both the Laliga and the Premier League but it is Lille who emerged victors in the pursuit of the 20 year old.
