According to the spokesperson of the operation in Zamfara State Major Clement Abiade,  Yahuza Wuya was taken into custody based on purported support he offers armed bandits in Wuya and Sunken communities in the local government.

According to Major Abiade, Wuya allegedly helped to secure the freedom of a notorious bandit, Sani Yaro, from Gusau prison in the state capital.

Reports have it that Wuya also served as an informant for the bandits terrorizing the community. The army alleged that Wuya told the bandits about the movement of troops, other security agencies, and local vigilantes, as well as selling cows and donkeys rustled by the criminals.

Zamfara State has been at the forefront of armed bandits attacks in recent weeks. This has led to public outcry for increased security measures to curb the activities of the bandits.

The armed bandits are now operating in others states like Katsina, and Sokoto.

This has led to intensified efforts by security agencies to ensure that peace and serenity is restored and maintained in the state.
