Nigerian Filmmaker Denied Entry Into The National Assembly Over “Indecent” Dressing

A Nigerian filmmaker identified as ProfUkay has cried out on Twitter after she was denied access to the National Assembly over “indecent dressing.”

The filmmaker explained that she was supposed to cover the social media bill public hearing for her organization but the security stopped her on the grounds that her gown is too short.

Nigerian Filmmaker Denied Entry Into The National Assembly Over “Indecent” Dressing

She wrote on Twitter;

Dear @nassnigeria what is your dress code policy for entering the National Assembly? Today I was denied access to cover the #socialmediabill public hearing for my organisation @AmplifiedR on the grounds that I am indecently dressed.”

Sadly, this occurrence is quite common in the National Assembly. Any security official can deny a person access based on how they are dressed

This gown comes exactly to my knees yet it is tagged “too short”. Several people were astounded as I was denied access tag kept asking “which gown is too short. Do you know what short is”?
