1. 2023 Igbo Presidency, Plot to Hoodwink Ndigbo —Ohanaeze

Ohanaeze Ndigbo  has expressed pessimism over comments by some stakeholders in the APC-led federal government that Ndigbo would produce the next President of the country in 2023.

Reacting, the National Publicity Secretary of the body, Prince Uche Achi-Okpagha stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration doesn’t place any premium on Ndigbo, adding that the comment was meant to hoodwink the people of South-East and South-South in order to get their votes.

 

2. Man Prays Court to Recover N340,000 Dowry from His Father-In-Law

A 32-year-old suitor Ahmad Sani, on Thursday prayed a Sharia Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, to help him recover the N340,000 dowry he paid to his would-be father- in-law.

The complainant said he had sought Sumayya Malam’s hand in marriage from her father, who gave his consent and demanded N20, 000 as dowry, excluding other traditional expenses.

However, after paying the dowry and other traditional expenses which amounted to N340,000, he took his bride to the house he rented, but his bride didn’t like the house, he said.

Sani prayed the court to help him recover all the money he spent for the failed marriage since the bride’s father had refused him to marry his daughter.

3. 2019 Atiku’s Criticism High on Rhetoric, Low on Real Solutions- Presidency

The Presidency on Thursday declared that the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s criticism of 2019 Budget proposal was high on rhetoric and low on real solutions.

The Special Adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, argued that the “current realities” identified by Atiku were issues already highlighted in President Buhari’s budget speech.

According to him, Atiku Abubakar did not offer substantive and workable solution to the identified “realities”.

4. What FG will do about Zamfara’s Insecurity – Dambazau

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has assured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s readiness to do something to end the destruction of lives and property going on in Zamfara State.

The President Muhammandu Buhari had sent the Minister to commiserate with the government and people of Zamfara, following the several attacks by suspected bandits in their state.

According to the Minister, the FG said it is committed to working closely with the state government to deploy more security resources to the state.

5. Police Postpone Parade of Badeh’s Killers

The Nigeria Police Force, on Thursday, postponed the parade of suspected killers of late former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, to journalists in Abuja.

The force Spokesman, acting  DCP Jimoh Moshood, said that the decision to postpone the parade of the suspects to the media was to prevent other members of the gang from escaping.

6. Tears of Joy as Gov. Ugwuanyi Assits Victims of Fire Outbreak in Enugu

Tears of joy flowed in Enugu as victims of the recent fire outbreak at Ugboezeji and Ugboye in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, which burnt down the apartments of three widows, those of two other families and shops belonging to four furniture makers, a yam seller and bean-cake (Akara) fryer, respectively, when Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi sent help across to them to sympathize and to overcome their challenges.

Gov. Ugwuanyi who was represented by the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Edward Ubosi, sympathized with the victims and gave the five tenants the sum of N500, 000 each to start a new life and N1 million to the landlord to assist her rebuild the property. Other victims of the fire also got a share of the assistance package.

7. Runtown’s Lamborghini Destroyed At Burnaboy’s Concert

On Wednesday night, Runtown’s Lamborghini was destroyed at Burna Boy’s concert that held at Eko Hotels in Lagos.

Runtown acquired the Lamborghini back in 2017 when he was still with his former record label boss, Dilly Umenyiora.

8. Guest Beats up Woman over Son’s Failure to Greet

A 43-year-old guest, Donnie Egbuzie, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly inflicting injuries on a woman, over her son’s refusal to greet him.

The eight-year-old boy cried to his mother and told her that the guest called him a bastard. The mother followed him to where the guest was to know why he called her son a bastard. The man told her that he called her son a bastard because he lacked respect by not greeting him.

However when the woman warned him never to call her son a bastard, he descended on her and dragged her on the ground.

9.  I Am the Credible Alternative – Ezekwesili

Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, Presidential Candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), says she is contesting the 2019 elections to correct the nation’s political anomaly and usher in good governance.

The former Minister of Education, who was flanked by some female supporters during the campaign tagged ‘walk of women’, described herself as a candidate with the requisite attributes to develop Nigeria. According to her, “I represent that new momentum and I am the credible alternative,’’ she said.

Ezekwesili made this known in an interview with newsmen while canvassing for votes in Onitsha on Thursday.

10. Atiku’s Govt Will Run Efficient Ports —Obi

The PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the 2019 elections, Mr. Peter Obi has said his principal, Atiku Abubakar is conversant with the workings of the Nigerian ports and will resolve all obstacles hindering smooth transactions in the nation’s ports if elected president.

According to Obi, “with his vast experience in the operations of the terminal ports in his years as a Custom Officer, Atiku would dismantle all the obstacles that cause delays in the release of goods in the nation’s ports.”
