Nigerian Navy Rescues 12 Passengers In Rivers State
The Nigerian Navy in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, on Friday, March 29th, rescued a two-month-old baby and 11 others from drowning in Ngo waterways in Rivers state.
The Base Information Officer of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder in Port Harcourt, Lt. identified as Ernest Jim, made it clear that the troops on routine patrol of the waterways sighted a capsized boat and immediately intervened to rescue the passengers who were 12 in number.
According to Ernest Jim, the boat was loaded over capacity and that was the reason why it cap sized.

Ernest Jim, the Information Officer of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder in Port Harcourt, said in a statement:
“The boat mishap happened at about 1330 hours on Thursday, March 28 around Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Map Jetty in Ngo, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers. It is gratifying to state that all 11 passengers and the baby were rescued with no casualty recorded”
Ernest Jim further concluded by saying that the rescued passengers were later taken to a nearby NLNG medical facility for check up and treatment also
