Nigerians React as Lady Shares Her Encounter With A Nursing Mother
A lady identified as @tolytee on Twitter shared her encounter with a nursing mother when she asked to carry her baby.
Instead of replying her, the mother brought out a hand sanitizer, squeezed it to the lady’s palm and waited for it to dry before handling her the baby. However the lady found this offensive and asked for people’s thoughts on Twitter.
See Her Tweet Below:
“I had an encounter today. Me: Can I carry your baby. Mother: *brings out hand sanitizer waiting for me to open my hands to press it*. Me: was startled for a while and finally opens my hand. Mother waited for it to dry and hands me baby. I found this offensive. Thoughts anyone?
Guys, the problem wasn’t the sanitizer. The problem was the lack of communication. *A simple do you mind if you use some sanitizer before taking her*? Instead of just dumping the sanitizer. Then it would have been up to me to still go ahead and carry her baby!”

Her assumption was that you know you have to sanitize for touching a baby. Those were her conditions, not negotiable. I don't think you should let it bother you.
How did the whole thing make you feel?

Ultimately baby was in your arms.

It was still up to you. You could've declined the hand sanitizer and moved on. How is this even a tweet? Lol. Something about that encounter triggered you. Sort that out.

You shouldn’t be offended if a mother decides to not give you her child to hold at all because of hygiene.
You should not be offended if a mother would first have you sanitize your hands before carrying her child
The child’s health is at stake, yours hardly is.— Adedolapo. (@marthaagbakosi) August 3, 2019
I understand. You feel like she's saying you're 'dirty' right? Dont feel that way, babies are prone to contracting diseases easily from surfaces no matter how micro. The dirtiest surface on the body are the hands. She's only protecting her kid. Dont take it to heart.

The baby's health matters more than your feelings
