Nigerians React As Man Allegedly Charges at Buhari

Reactions have continued to come in from Nigerians over a man who charged at President Muhammadu Buhari had to be stopped by security officials and others close to him.

Although the eight seconds video did not clearly show what the man’s intention, but he was about to charge at the president while he was posing for photographs with the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, and other dignitaries after arriving in Birnin Kebbi to attend the Agricultural Fair and Display, a part of the 2020 Argungu International Fishing Festival.

Some political opponents had said that the man was trying to attack the president which had been denied by the Presidency.

The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, reacted to the news saying the young man wanted to shake hands with the president.

“A young man was very excited to see his President at the Argungu fishing festival. He made to walk straight to him for a handshake. Security details prevented it. Now, opposite people are passing it off as an attempt to attack the President. How malicious can some people be!” he tweeted.
