Nyesom Wike Declared Rivers State Governor After Landslide Victory In The State

Nyesom Wike, the rightful candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Rivers state governorship election, has won another term after a successfully conducted election for himself and his party.

At the end of the final collation of 21 local government areas in Rivers state, it was announced by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that Nyesom Wike, candidate of PDP polled 886,264 votes ahead of one Biokpomabo Awara, identified as the candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC), who garnered 173,859 votes and was his closest rival in the state.

The PDP candidate, Nyesom Wike, polled a total of 886,264 votes ahead of his closest rival in Rivers state.

Meanwhile, Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, had since declared his support for Awara since the All Progressives Congress (APC) was ineligible to field candidates in the elections in the state.

Atiku Abubakar, candidate for PDP in the concluded Presidential elections was very happy with the result of the election conducted in Rivers state and he sent a congratulatory message to Nyesom Wike.
