Obasanjo Visits Buhari in London

Following tensions that the erstwhile and ailing Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari may return to the country soon following his prolonged medical vacation which is now over 80 days, it has been reported that the former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited Buhari at the Abuja House in London. Initially, President Buhari had been travelling in and out of the country on account of a prolonged ear disease before he decided to stay back in London and seek proper treatment.

Going by reports from newsmen, ex-President Obasanjo had a warm reception with President Buhari before they went in for a closed-door consultation that lasted 40 minutes. More so, it was confirmed that the two past military leaders and long-term friends were happy to be seeing each other after a long while, following which they proceeded to another room and had a private discussion which lasted for about 40 minutes.

Moreover, it was publicized that Obasanjo was escorted to London by former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who nonetheless didn’t not participate in the closed-door meeting. “The leaders were said to have come out of the meeting a few minutes before 10.00 p.m., following which the former president and Oyinlola were seen off by President Buhari.” It can be adduced from the Saturday trip that got known today that the President is doing fine with his health and may even return to Nigeria sooner than expected. “Buhari, who was said to have expressed gratitude for the visit, also told Oyinlola that: “Excellency, you are looking really fine” with both Obasanjo and Oyinlola reportedly replying that they were happy to see that he (Buhari) was looking fine too”, report from the leaders’ meeting in London stated.
