– Oby Ezekwesili and Shehu Sanni have reacted to seeking international funds for government projects in the country

– Ezekwesili in her statement said it has gotten to a point that African countries should stop being permanent recipient of charity

Senator Shehu Sanni and 2019 Presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili in separate statements have reacted to seeking of international funds for government projects in Nigeria and Africa at large.

Shehu Sanni in his statement compared how the colonial masters were able to build rail lines without heavy loans and to the present day when the country needs Chinese loans to build railways.

He said, “How did the colonial masters built and connected all parts of the country with rail lines without heavy loans and leaving behind a huge debts; And now without Chinese loans,our railway dream will remain a dream.”

Our dry ports, launched with so many fanfares are living up to their names,” he added.
Oby Ezekwesili in her statement lamented on how the African continent has become the main reasons why donations were made.
She said, “How irritating to see how the failures of our continent have made all of Africa, most commentators’ choice of a ‘competitor’ for the donations raised for an edifice in Paris! It really is time for the willing across Africa to fight and win the battle over leadership failure”
The 2019 Presidential candidate stated that it has gotten to a time when African countries have to stop being permanent recipients of charity.
Oby Ezekwesili said, “Almost every continent of the world had at one time or the other needed Aid (Development Assistance) from others but sound leadership and governance made countries like Japan, those in Europe and rest of Asia to not permanently be recipients of charity. It is time, Africans. Enough!”
